What is Tik Tok ?
Tik Tok was formally called musical.ly. It is a social medial platform where people can upload their music videos to show off their creativity and talents. In simple words, it is a karaoke for today’s generation. Here, people can express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy and also lip-syncing. It allow users to create videos which can be recorded upto 15 secs or less and share them across the world.

One should be at least 13
years old to be a part of Tik Tok community.
However,Ireland
has now set a Digital Age of Consent to 16 years old. Everyone under 16 cannot
access this social media platform.

million users of Tik Tok,then you should update your app as soon as possible.
There was a recent survey by the Check Point security researchers, where they
found that some versions of the app are vulnerable and can be hacked. And if
you haven’t yet updated your app then your personal information stored in your
phone is at stake.
Being a social media
platform with a high community, it becomes an attractive target for the hackers
who are looking for your personal information.

According to the
researchers, the app has many vulnerabilities that takes your personal
information to risk. The attackers can take complete access to your account,
they can upload or remove any video using your account and can use and expose
your private videos that are said to be “hidden”.
They can also do things like follow or unfollow someone’s account using your account, getting personal information like email, photos etc. and can make videos and post them through your account.

Check Point says, Tik Tok was quick to respond when they were notified about the vulnerability and
they managed to fix the discovered vulnerabilities by the end of almost a
month.
You just need to update
you phone app to get the new version which is free of those dangerous
vulnerabilities and if not, then you are at risk.
