These days, everyone has a smartphone ,with Lithium ion rechargeable batteries .
Today, Lithium ion is powering everything around us from smartphones to electric cars  . 

But there are some limitations of these batteries like they are flammable and therefore, can catch fire easily .

Now, on charging, Na+ ions are extracted from cathode terminal and inserted into anode while electrons keeps moving in external circuit , during discharging reverse process takes place inside it .

Due to all these factors the costs of sodium ion batteries is very low as they are made up from earth abundant metals.

Another advantage can be the construction factor of  SODIUM ION BATTERY  that it utilizes the same manufacturing protocols and methods that required for lithium ion batteries and even it works on same basic principles. Hence sodium ion battery can be the replacement of lithium ion in terms of applications. Therefore no extra capital cost to manufacturing industries is required.
